There could be several answers to this questions. Some might say strategic thinking skills, getting results, or bringing out the best in the people around you. Whereas, others might point to confidence, charisma or the ability to inspire trust. As a matter of fact, the qualities of a great leader have changed considerably over time due to modern business demands.
Dana Brownlee, founder of Professionalism Matters says, “I think a great leader is one who makes those around them better”. She further adds, “There are many litmus tests for a great leader, but I really look to those around them: Are they growing, becoming better leaders themselves, motivated, etc.?”
Hence, great leaders will draw from both knowledge and experience, as well as their own personality traits. They help themselves and others to do the right things. In addition, they set direction, build an inspiring vision, and bring out creativity.
